Our School
Arch Street Public School (Grades JK to 6) provides a safe, supportive environment where student learning is the focus of an educational partnership among students, dedicated staff, parents, and the community. Strong emphasis is placed on quality programming that promotes the acquisition and development of literacy and numeracy skills, the foundations of future success. The staff works with students and parents in a sincere and serious effort to help meet students' educational, social and emotional needs.
Our Students
Arch Street Public School has an enrolment of 165 students, representing cultural heritages and languages from many countries. We celebrate our diversity and work together in a positive learning environment with the goal of educating our students for success by inspiring learning and building citizenship.

Our Staff
Arch Street School has a caring and devoted staff. The teachers, educational assistants, early childhood educators, office staff and custodial staff work collaboratively to provide a clean, safe and caring environment in which the students are supported and encouraged in their academic and social endeavours.
The staff has expertise in numerous areas and is therefore able to provide a variety of programs, both academic and extra-curricular. The staff is continually being in-serviced about curriculum changes, effective instructional and assessment practices, advances and changes in technology, and health and safety issues. The focus of the staff is on excellence – for themselves as professionals and for the students as learners

Programs and Services
Academic Programs
- Regular English with Core French
- Full day French Immersion Junior and Senior Kindergarten
- Grades 1 to 6 receive 40 minutes of Core French per day
- System classes: Primary Special Needs class, and a kindergarten Autism Program.
Special Education and ESL Programs
In order to meet the individual needs of some of our students, the Special Education Staff provide assessments, monitoring of classroom learning and modified programming for students. ESL staff provides special support to students who are new to Canada and who are learning to speak English, and extra skill coaching, particularly for literacy skill development. Our support teachers’ work in partnership with the homeroom teachers to deliver a Balanced Literacy program that includes small group guided reading.
