Principal's Message

Welcome to Arch Street Public School! 

As the incoming Principal this year, I am thrilled to be joining this dynamic school community as we collaborate in support of each student’s achievement and wellbeing!

At Arch, we provide a safe, inclusive, and caring school environment to a vibrant and diverse community of learners. Our equitable approach to education ensures that every student has the opportunity to reach their highest potential. Through positive and trusting relationships, our dedicated staff are responsive to individual student learning styles, interests, strengths, and needs. With engaging and enriching programs and activities being offered at our school, we strive to support our students to grow into collaborative, caring, and productive global citizens.

We are a single track school offering an enriching English program to students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. Our program includes Core French and support in the areas of English Literacy Development, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. We also run two wonderful specialized programs; the Autism Program and the Primary Special Needs Program.

Arch Street Public School stands on a beautiful large stretch of land with plenty of green space for our students to enjoy outdoor play at recess, during Physical Education classes and school-wide events. We are walking distance to Canterbury Recreation Complex. Furthermore, we have a great partnership with the students at Canterbury High School, many of whom are Arch Street P.S. alumni, who return to assist as Co-op students and help out with classroom and recess activities with students and staff.

Our dedicated school team offers a variety of extracurricular activities in athletics and the arts. As we work to prepare students for the 21st century,  we strive to embed skills and characteristics from our OCDSB Exit Outcomes across all curricular areas. Our students are encouraged to set high standards for themselves and develop positive, kind and collaborative work habits as responsible members of our school community.
